A wry, intelligent, slightly disheveled creative type, Mascarelli is a focused, talented artist with advanced skills across a variety of fields and disciplines.
Born in New Brunswick, New Jersey, the family moved us to Arizona when I was two years old. My first doodle was inspired by my mother who fostered my talents and encouraged my creative side. Falling asleep with crayons in one hand and paint in the other was a common occurrence during my childhood. Quickly and irreversibly, art implanted itself into my life. I embraced a wide variety of artistic pursuits and advanced my knowledge over years of experimentation, questing, and study.
Earning my Associate of Arts degree in Visual Communications at Collins College, I spent more than a decade engaged in full-service agency work for companies like Republic Services, GoDaddy, Spark, LaneTerralever, Lavidge, Santy, and Maximo. I also have nearly 20 years of experience as a freelance graphic designer. My core professional work includes branding, graphic design, illustration, and website design.
My inspirations include Shel Silverstein, Frank Frazetta, Brom, Syd Mead, Ralph McQuarrie, Tara McPherson, Peter Chung, Loish, Michael Parkes, and H.R. Giger.
I live in Phoenix with my wife and two children.
